A habit is a behaviour carried out regularly and repeated over time. Habits are learned and require little or no rational commitment. Habits we feel are minimal, make up an important portion of our day-to-day life. They can be advantageous or dangerous to our life depending on whether that habit is a good or bad habit.

Good Habits Vs Bad Habits

Good habits are habits that are necessary for growth and personal development. They direct your existence to achieve your purpose in life and can be sources of satisfaction.

On the other hand, bad habits have negative consequences. They’re substantially dangerous and delicate to let go. Some of our habits are bad but, due to a lack of mindfulness, we don’t know how destructive they are to our levels of productivity.

How Are Habits Formed?

It’s said that whatever you repeat for 21 days becomes a habit for you. With the passage of time, practising a new habit becomes an unconscious effort.

Have the behaviours become habits, just because you’ve had them for a long time, or are they hiding something else? Do you find it harder to break habits than other people you know? Why are some people able to snap out of it all at once when you’ve been struggling with a tough habit for years?

Stop being so hard on yourself! Seriously.

Stop blaming yourself for what went wrong in the past. Instead, channel that energy towards the future and make it better.  Acceptance is key to growing as a person and to enjoying greater emotional well-being.

Toxic relationships can do a lot of damage, but it’s not always easy to recognize that we’re involved with a toxic person.

You have to learn to control everything happening around you so as not to live stressed. For this, you can take a few minutes every day to disconnect from the world. In this way, you will not suffer from insomnia, alterations in your appetite, you will avoid gastritis and even ulcers.

5. Information overload.

Information is key to knowing what is happening around us, but have you stopped to think about the amount of information you receive on a daily basis? Information overload can be a harmful habit if we don’t know how to handle it. The majority of this information overload comes from our consumption of endless social media feeds.

Ideally, reserve some time a day to evaluate your thoughts without them receiving external stimuli. It will assist see things more clearly.

6. Competing with others

Competing with others can make us tremendously unhappy because everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. It is important that we value ourselves as we are and don’t attempt to be better than others, but rather follow our own path.

We have all it takes to change habits and acquire healthy ones through patience and practice. Regularize good habits, eliminate bad habits.
